BioAct Biological Activation
Intelligent Biological Treatment Enhancement for Wastewater Systems
What is BioAct?
BioAct is an external biological activation system that enhances wastewater treatment performance by dosing high-concentration, stationary-phase bacteria combined with zeolite media directly into existing treatment processes.
Unlike conventional biological treatment that relies on growing bacteria populations within the wastewater itself, BioAct cultivates bacteria externally in a controlled fermentation environment, producing populations ready for immediate treatment action upon dosing. Combined with natural zeolite’s ion exchange and adsorption properties, the system delivers measurable improvements in treatment efficiency, sludge reduction, and odor control.

How it Works

Step 1
BioCapsule Loading
A BioCapsule containing a proprietary blend of naturally occurring bacteria strains and zeolite media is loaded into the BioAct device. Each capsule typically lasts approximately one month under standard conditions.

Step 2
Fermentation & Growth
Inside the device, a fermentation tank cultivates the bacteria population under controlled conditions, allowing them to reach the stationary phase — the stage where bacteria are most resilient and immediately effective upon deployment.

Step 3
Automated Dosing
The BioAct system automatically doses the concentrated bacteria-zeolite mixture into the wastewater treatment process at programmed intervals. The dosing schedule can be monitored and adjusted remotely via the companion mobile application.

Step 4
Enhanced Treatment
Once dosed into the system, the stationary-phase bacteria immediately begin consuming organic waste, while the zeolite media provides additional benefits through ammonium adsorption via ion exchange, odor compound capture, and serving as a carrier surface for biofilm formation.
KEY ADVANTAGES
Advantage |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Significant Sludge Reduction |
Reduces excess sludge production by improving biological treatment efficiency, lowering sludge handling and disposal costs. |
|
Odor Control |
The zeolite component captures odor-causing compounds through ion exchange, while enhanced biological activity reduces odor-generating organic matter. |
|
Shock Load Protection |
Regular dosing of concentrated stationary-phase bacteria maintains treatment performance even when the system experiences sudden changes in flow, load, or conditions. |
|
Ultra-Low Energy Consumption |
The BioAct device operates on approximately 2 kWh per month — less than a typical laptop computer. Only standard 220V electricity and approximately 20 liters of tap water per day are required. |
|
Easy Installation |
The wastewater does not flow through the device. BioAct connects externally to the existing treatment system with no structural modifications, civil works, or process interruptions required. |
|
Minimal Maintenance |
Routine maintenance is limited to monitoring BioCapsule consumption and replacing capsules as needed. Device components are simple and easily serviceable. |
|
Reduced Aeration Costs |
Because the dosed bacteria are already in their active stationary phase, less aeration energy is needed to grow and maintain bacterial populations in the treatment system. |
